REIKI LEVEL 1 COURSE - INTRODUCTORY/BEGINNER
Intensive 1 day course

On this course you will learn how to use Reiki energy for yourself, friends and family, Reiki for relaxation and stress management and how to include Reiki techniques simply and easily into your yoga, meditation or mindfulness practice and in every day. You will receive your Reiki Level 1 attunement, study manual and certificate on completion of the day's training.
You will discover:
- A brief history of Usui Reiki
- An introduction to energy vortices (chakras)
- Grounding and auric protection techniques
- Daily mantras and an introduction to Usui Reiki principles
- How to prepare a healing space for your Reiki practice
- How to share Reiki and the importance of energy exchange
- Hand positions for self treatment
- Hand positions for sharing Reiki with friends and family
- Practice session of Reiki self treatment and sharing Reiki with others
- Different uses for Reiki including meditation and mindfulness practice, sharing with plants and animals and Earth healing
- Using Reiki with food and drinks
Refreshments and Lunch
Herbal tea refreshments and water are available throughout the day. A light vegan lunch is provided.
(Please note that accommodation will be made as much as possible for dietary requirements however it cannot be guaranteed that the lunch will exclude all allergens in its preparation and cooking. If you have dietary restrictions, it is recommended to arrange for your own personal provision of lunch.)
It is essential to avoid alcohol and recreational substances on the day of the course, and is advisable to avoid alcohol, recreational substances, coffee and heavy meals the night before the day of the course. If you can’t forego your morning coffee on the day of the course, not to worry!
What to Bring
A pen and notepad are useful to bring if you would like to take notes. The course is more practical in nature and a manual outlining what you will learn during the course is provided but please feel free to add any notes you feel will help you. Otherwise, you need only bring yourself, an open heart and your enthusiasm!

The venue is less than 2 mins walk from Crosshill train station, in the southside of Glasgow, and many bus routes pass close to the venue - please visit the Locations page on the website for more details. There is free on street parking but please note the venue is in a quiet residential area and parking is subject to availability. The wheelchair accessible entrance to the venue is located to the rear of the building. Your Reiki Teacher
The course is provided by Flourish, Traditional Medicine and Holistic Healing service based in Glasgow and is facilitated by Andrea Doran, Flourish's Reiki Master and Teacher. Andrea is a Holistic Medicine Specialist, Shamanic Healer, Reiki Teacher, Animal Reiki Practitioner and Therapeutic Horticulturist. She has been working in the field of holistic medicine for 20 years, including holistic bodywork, energy work, plant medicine, vibrational medicine and shamanic healing ceremonies, and has had the joy of teaching and sharing Reiki for over 13 years. Her approach is down to earth and her courses are simple yet highly effective. She believes we all have the capacity to heal and that Reiki is not a complicated skill to learn or develop - your dedicated intention and focus are requested during her intensive 1 day course so that you can begin to confidently apply the techniques as soon as your training is complete.
